YOU SHOULD DONATE
John
Walker: the Musical has been accepted into this year’s New York International
Fringe Festival, and we need your help to produce the best quality production
possible. Our creative team has been working for nearly three years on this project
and FringeNYC is giving us an opportunity to bring it to fruition.
This
production is already receiving buzz for its premise and politically charged themes.
John Walker: the Musical gives insight into why a modern American suburban boy
would want to pursue a life based upon fundamentalist Muslim values and fight
in a foreign war. It also delves into the feelings of confusion, paranoia and
fear that have been interwoven in the current American social climate and how
far those feelings can be manipulated and cultivated for political power and control.
As
great of an accomplishment as being admitted into FringeNYC is for us, we still
need funds to produce our production and get out our message. Due to profit limitations
that go hand-in-hand with FringeNYC, we will likely recoup our losses from producing
John Walker: the Musical but we will not profit. We are confident that John Walker:
the Musical will have future productions beyond the Fringe Festival in which all
donors will be invited to invest.
PUSH
Productions, a not-for-profit theater company, will be our co-producer. Therefore,
any donation you should choose to make will be tax deductible. We've already had
success in raising $5000 in in-kind donations. Now we only need to raise $10,000
more. Please help us in bringing this powerful piece of theater to the New York
audience and communicating our political and moral message. Any donation will
